Abstract

The first manganese derivative of the donor-stabilized bis(silylene) complex (OC)4Mn{SiMe2⋯O(Me)⋯ SiMe2} has been synthesized by the photolysis of (OC)5MnSiMe2SiMe2OMe. The X-ray structure analysis of this complex revealed its distorted-octahedral structure with two short Mn-Si bonds and a planar MnSi2O chelate ring.
