Abstract

The Ag 3 PO 4 /polyvinyl alcohol (Ag 3 PO 4 /PVA) hybrid photocatalysts were successfully synthesized using a coprecipitation method using AgNO 3 , Na 2 HPO 4 ·12H 2 O and PVA as starting materials. The products emerged in a cubic (p-43n) structure. The photocatalytic performances for the decomposition of Rhodamine B (RhB) under the blue light irradiation strongly depended on PVA content. The excellent photocatalytic activity may be due to the enhanced photo-induced charge separation brought on by the strong interaction of PVA with Ag 3 PO 4 .
