Abstract

This paper describes the design and performance of a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) system for Satellite Digital Communication Service (SDCS). To reduce cost and hardware size of TDMA equipment, six kinds of general-purpose TDMA LSIs have been newly developed. These LSIs are applicable to various types of TDMA equipment with different TDMA frame formats and clock rates of up to 100 MHz through software parameter setting and use of parallel processing. Cost and hardware size of the TDMA equipment implemented in LSIs have been reduced to about one-fourth of conventional.
