N2 - The theory of charged particle activation analysis is discussed and a new method is reported. This method is based on the use of average stopping power, and the formula error by this method is smaller than by other known methods. As an example, it is shown that the formula error by this method is under 0.3% for the quantitative analysis of oxygen using the reactions 16O(t, n)18F and 16O(3He, p)18F. The average energies for the average stopping powers are calculated, for the above reactions, as a function of the incident energy of the charged particle.
