The effect of the longitudinal electric field of a radially polarized laser beam for second harmonic generation

Abstract

Second harmonic generation is demonstrated for radially and azimuthally polarized beams. The contribution of longitudinal electric field generated by a focused radially polarized beam is clearly distinguished from that by an azimuthally polarized beam.
