Abstract

Magnetization is measured in plastically deformed Ni50Cu50 alloy in the temperature range from 4.5 to 80 K.The temperature dependence of spontaneous magnetization Ms(T) has been analysed according to the self-consistent renormalization theory of spin fluctuation. The value of Ms(0) decreases from 7.07 × 10-2 to 6.32 × 10-2 Wb m-2 and the Curie temperature Tc declines from 57.8 to 50.1 K with 50% strain. The decreases in Ms(0) and Tc can be explained by the introduction of the antiphase boundary, which reveals the existence of an atomically ordered structure in the Ni-Cu alloys.
