Abstract

Using a Ledatron oscillator designed for the spectroscopy in the millimeter wave region, the temperature dependence of the absorption by the paraelectric impurity of the OH-ion in the NaCl crystal is studied at the wavelength of 5 mm region in the temperature range between 4.2 and 1.4 K. The result is consistent with the energy level scheme of the defect system proposed by Kirby, Hughes and Sievers.
