Abstract

The parametric soliton laser with a low pedestal is realized by inserting a band pass filter. The soliton laser operates via parametric four-photon mixing in a single-mode fiber, in which the pump wavelength is set close to the zero dispersion wavelength. The center wavelength of the Stokes soliton is 1.575 µm when the pump wavelength is set at 1.526 µm. The band pass filter of 60 nm bandwidth passes only the Stokes component. Then, the pedestal observed in the autocorrelation trace decreases to less than 8% of the soliton part.
