Abstract
Grating lobe intensity is analyzed theoretically for electronic scanner array design. An analytical expression of the intensity is derived by taking the effect of aberrations and array element directivity on grating lobe formation into account. The intensity obtained using the derived expression is compared with computer simulation results. It is seen that their dependences on acoustic parameters agree well with each other.
