Abstract
A theoretical method for investigating the effect of inhomogeneity of turbulent flow has been proposed, which enables us to calculate various kinds of non-trivial effects on the turbulence property caused by the inhomogeneity of statistical quantities such as strain rate or absolute volticity of the mean flow in analytical way. Reynolds stress has been investigated using the newly introduced method and has given feasible explanation for the velocity reduction in the core of the swirling flow in a static pipe.
