Abstract
The quasi-particle transport of normal metal/insulator/CDW junctions is investigated theoretically for the configuration where the one-dimensional chains are oriented normal to the interface. The tunnel current depends strongly on the macroscopic phase of the CDW condensate and vanishes when the applied bias is smaller than the magnitude of the Peierls energy gap. The average conductance in mesoscopic systems is also calculated.
