Abstract

We have measured the magnetization, linear thermal expansion and magnetostriction of polycrystalline samples of Sr1-xYxC0O3-δ (x = 0.22, 0.25) in high magnetic fields, and found that the magnetization of Sr1-xYxC0O3-δ is closely related to the crystal lattice. This result agrees with our expectation that the large decrease of the magnetization in Sr0.75Y0.25C0O3-δ with cooling in temperature region 150-250 K is caused by spin crossover.
