Abstract
Thermal properties of AlH3-etherate and its desolvation reaction into AlH3 were experimentally investigated under heating and isothermal processes. AlH3-ehterate was desolvated to γ-AlH3 which immediately transformed into α-AlH3 in the heating process. The results under the isothermal process provide appropriate conditions to effectively obtain α- and γ-AlH3 by restraining the occurrence of the dehydriding reaction into metallic Al.
