Abstract
This paper investigates the thermal responses of a shape memory alloy (SMA) manipulator driven by thermoelectric modules. We propose the use of heat transfer by thermoelectric modules for fast cooling and thermal control of the SMA manipulator in various temperature ranges. The approaches to enlarge the applicable temperature range of the SMA manipulator have been discussed based on the numerical simulation.
