Abstract

Results on manganese distribution between liquid iron and Fe//tO-containing slags are summarized. The apparent equilibrium constant is expressed as an equation. Variations with compositions in the ternary melts as well as in MgO-saturated CaO-Fe//tO-SiO//2-MnO slags are discussed on the basis of the regular solution model and Richardson's ideal silicate mixing.
