Abstract
Single crystals of Ca3Co2O6 were synthesized in a molten K2CO3 flux. Electric resistivity (ρ) and Seebeck coefficient (S) of the crystals were measured along the c axis direction of the Ca3Co2O6 single crystal from room temperature to over 1000 K in air. The Ca3Co 2O6 crystals showed p-type semiconducting behavior with ρ values of 2.0 Οcm at room temperature and 0.013 Οcm at 1000K. The S values were +165μV·K-1 at 300K, +300μV·K-1 at 440 K, and +169μV·K-1 at 1000K. The power factor (S2ρ-1) increased with temperature and attained 2.33 × 10-4 W·m -1·K-2 at 1000K.
