N2 - Calcium phosphate slurry (CP-Slurry) is used for fabricating a thin hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating on titanium (Ti) by a chemical coating process. A titanium (Ti) substrate was completely buried in CP-Slurry prepared by mixing calcium phosphate powder (CP-Powder) with distilled water, and the substrate was then heated at 973K in air. The fabricated coating consisted of HAp and titanium dioxide (TiO 2), and the thickness of the coating was approximately 300nm. When the coated Ti was soaked in a simulated body fluid, a calcium phosphate precipitate grew on its surface within 1day. The chemical coating process using the CP-Slurry is a promising technique for enhancing the bioactivity of Ti.
