Abstract
The transport properties of of polycrystalline germanium (GE) filled skutterudites CoSb 3 were investigated. A high pressure synthesis approach was used for the preparation of the skutterudites. The measurements of the electrical resistivity, Hall coefficient, Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity were also performed. The electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) was used to study the chemical compositions of the specimen. The materials were found to be semiconducting in nature, with Ge void fillers donating electrons to provide n-type conduction.
