Abstract

Conventional three dimensional (3D) radar imaging techniques use actual-aperture or synthetic-aperture directional antennas to resolve images into azimuths and elevations. Pulse compression waves or pulse compression is used to resolve range. Pulse compression correlates delays using PN-pattern modulated waves or chirp waves (linear frequency modulated continuous wave; FM-CM). This paper describes two-tone CW complex holographic radar imaging, a technique which gives very high range resolution in a very narrow frequency band.
