Abstract

The formation process of STEs associated with free carriers created by the band-to-band excitation in alkali iodide crystals was investigated to find general feature of the STE dynamics on the APES. The specimens were excited by the two-photon absorption with ultraviolet pulses, whose wavelength and pulse duration were 302 nm and ≅ 200 fs, respectively.
