Abstract

Using polydiacetylene nano-crystals Fabri-Perot etalon has been fabricated. The fringes observed could be shifted by an exciton-resonant pump with the pulse energy of a few GW/cm2 and the shifts recovered within about three picoseconds. It concluded that the ultrafast optical switching was due to the non-linear refractivity of polydiacetytlene nano-crystals.
