Abstract

We have performed high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on Mx CoO2 (M: Na, K, Rb) to clarify the band dispersion and Fermi surface inherent to CoO2 plane. We have found that a1 g band which forms a large hexagonal Fermi surface centered at Γ(A) point shows a dispersion kink at approximately 100 meV binding energy, irrespective of the species of alkali metals and its content (x). We discuss the origin of kink in the dispersion in terms of the strong mass renormalization due to electron-phonon interaction and/or the hybridization of a1 g and eg bands.
