Abstract

Unusually high coercivity at room temperature in CoFe2O4 nanoparticles was recorded. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy and Mössbauer spectroscopy. XRD analysis confirmed the presence of spinel CoFe2O4 phase only and the average grain size was evaluated to be 22 nm. Mössbauer studies showed that the sample consisted of superparamagnetic and single domain particles.
