Abstract
Two different procedures were developed for immobilizing an enzyme on the electrode surface by using the strong complexation of avidin and the biotinylated enzyme. The first method is based on the adsorption of avidin or a complex of avidin and the biotinylated enzyme on the LB film-coated electrode. The second procedure involves the direct electro-deposition of avidin or the avidin-biotinylated enzume complex. Response characteristics of glucose sensors prepared by both techniques were discussed in terms of the enzyme loading on the electrode surface.
