Abstract

In MnIr alloy system, the highest Néel temperature TN among Mn alloy systems with an L10-type structure has been confirmed. The electronic specific heat coefficient γ is of 2-3mJmol -1K-2 and almost independent of the Ir concentration. It is considered that the L10-type MnIr alloys are pseudo-gap-type antiferromagnets from the electrical resistivity and specific heat data, but the value of γ is larger than that of the L10-type equiatomic MnPt alloy. These experimental results are in accord with the calculated band structures.
