Large X-ray interferometers are developed for phase-contrast X-ray imaging aiming at medical applications. A monolithic X-ray interferometer and a separate one are studied, and currently a 25 mm × 20 mm view area can be generated. This paper describes the strategy of our research program and some recent developments. (0) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
