Abstract

The evolution of mobile radio communication systems towards the 3rd generation systems, called International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT)-2000 systems, and the state-of-the-art technology of wideband code division multiple access (W-CDMA) are discussed. The important concept of W-CDMA and a perspective on adaptive antenna array and interference cancellation techniques are presented.
