Enhancement of non-destructive evaluation by combining induction thermography and eddy current testing techniques

抄録

Induction thermography (IT) and eddy current testing (ECT) are non-contact, non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques that can be coupled by the eddy currents. The two inspections can share the same energy source. By taking the synergized effects of the two techniques, we can detect a larger variety of defects and improve detection and sizing reliability. The two methods were analyzed in the view of energy flow. The clarification of the mechanism provides the basis for effective hybrid of IT and ECT.
