Living radical polymerizations (LRPs), especially, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of MMA was performed under elevated pressure up to 500 MPa. We have achieved to synthesize PMMA with M_n > 1,000,000 and PDI < 1.3, constantly. ATRP of MMA under high pressure could be a powerful method to synthesize ultrahigh-molecular-weight PMMA.
