Microdroplet array concentration with size-triggered release system

In the paper we report the microfluidic device with size-triggered droplet release system for fast and magnification-controlled droplet enrichment, and serial detection. It contains microwells for droplet formation and micropillars as the size-triggered releasing tool. The droplet is concentrated and shrunk by spontaneous emulsification, then released when it reaches the determined size. Using our design, accurate and fast detection of the cell secretion, which can be combined with the droplet sorting technique using microfluidic device, will be achieved in the future.
