抄録

The microstructural evolution of dual phase bainitic ferrite-austenite steel through heavy compression was estimated by thermodynamic computations. Compression tests were conducted at temperatures of 298K and 573K on the rectangle samples at the strain rate of 0.001s-1. It was found heavy compression of the steel at room temperature resulted in transformation of austenite to martensite, which is in agreement with thermodynamics calculations. Additionally, heavy compression resulted in formation of fine grain with high angle grain boundary which confirms grain refinement.
