N2 - The tsunami caused by Chili earthquake occurred on February 27, 2010. The tsunami reached Japan on February 28, 2010. Main damaged area was Pacific Ocean coast region in Tohoku district. Total amount of fishery damage is estimated at 70 million dollars by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. In this area, there are a lot of calm bays along rias coast. Oyster, seaweed, scallop, ascidia and other seafoods are richly cultivated. In this study, we observed tsunami damages using satellite remote sensing data, ALOS/PRISM and AVNIR-2 images. ALOS/PRISM and AVNIR-2 images obtained on February, March, and April 2010 are used for the analysis. As a result, ALOS data set showed tsunami damage to culture facilities. Moving of seafood beds was observed in Hirota bay, one of the typical bays for marine farm. The seafood beds moved to inner bay due to tsunami. Moving of seafood beds is related to characteristics of tsunami. We tried to classify only the marine farm area, to observe the marine farm quantitatively. However, it was difficult to calculate the damage area of the marine farm by an unsupervised classification. In the case of optical sensor on ALOS satellite, it was possible to observe the tsunami damage to the marine farm after the disaster.
