The relations between Jovian electron flux and the solar wind were investigated using energetic particle and solar wind parameter data from Pioneer 11. The cross-correlation study disclosed that the flux change of Jovian electrons observed in interplanetary space showed an anti-correlation with the solar wind variation, suggesting that the release of Jovian electrons was controlled by the solar wind at the Jovian magnetosphere. It was also confirmed from simulation models that the modulation of the electron flux in interplanetary space was the result of both the above "source modulation" by the solar wind in the outer magnetosphere of Jupiter and the "barrier effect" induced by the co-rotating interaction region (CIR) in the solar wind.
