Structure and function of nanogels by hydrophobized cluster dextrin

We developed a novel artificial chaperone and drug delivery system using cholesteryl group-bearing pullulan (CHP) nanogels. In this report, we synthesized cholesteryl group-bearing cluster dextrin which is highly branched dextrin with narrow molecular weight distribution (CH-CDex). The number of cholesteryl groups per 100 glucose units were 1.5(CH-CDex1.5) and 2.4(CH-CDex2.4) determined by 1H-NMR. Solution properties of CH-CDex in water were investigated by DLS and MALS. CH-CDex formed self-associates consisting of 2-3(CH-CDex1.5) and 3-4(CH-CDex2.4) CH-CDex macromolecules, and the particle size (diameter) was 29.4 nm(CH-CDex1.5) and 24.6nm(CH-CDex2.4) by DLS.
