In this paper, centrifugal tests of a superstructure, steel piles, and the liquefied soil system are presented to clarify pile's ultimate strength and pile's cumulative damage as the pile collapses while subjected to multiple earthquakes. It is shown that the ultimate strength of the pile, which collapses when subjected to multiple shaking events, does not reach the ultimate strength curve. It is also concluded that the relationship between normalized ∑εpa, which is defined as pile's cumulative damage, and plastic deformation capacity μcmax can be evaluated using proposed equation.
